The Cabot Trail

Broadwater is central for travel throughout Cape Breton Island. A short, 10-minute drive in either direction will put you on the Cabot Trail. Enter Cape Breton Highlands National Park and you’ll find one of the most spectacular drives in the world. And if you keep a sharp eye out as you drive, you’ll probably see some of the abundant wildlife which calls the National Park home: moose, deer, bald eagles, whales, and trout. There are also lots of well-maintained hiking trails for the more adventurous.

From Broadwater, you can strike out for other Cape Breton destinations:

  • 2 minutes to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum
  • 20 minutes to Bird Island Tours
  • 40 minutes to Highland Village
  • 60 minutes to whale watching
  • 80 minutes to Fortress Louisbourg
  • A leisurely stroll along the bay (1 mile) brings you to the center of the Village of Baddeck.
Golf

Bell Bay Golf Club

Opened in September 1997 and adjacent to the Broadwater Inn. We are the closest accommodation to the course, with hole numbers two and three abutting the back of our property. We offer golf packages with both cottages and B&B Rooms. We have had rave reviews about the course (and our packages!). This course has to be played by anyone looking for a truly unique golf experience.

Not only are we seconds away from Bell Bay Golf Club, 1998’s “Best New Golf Course” (Golf Digest magazine) but only a one-hour drive to three other renowned courses, including Highland Links, Ingonish, the number one course in Canada. Call for our Golf Promo Package!
